Stephanie writes: My father was Ron Morris born and raised in Ada, Oklahoma and founder of Freedom Park One, a church he started that has been described as more of a cult according to Dr. Bill Zellner, a former professor at East Central University, also in Ada. Dr. Zellner included my fathers church (cult) beliefs in a book used in his class. See referenced link for more information.
My father Ron always wrote in his spiral notebooks and spoke to anyone who would listen about his beliefs. Whether or not he had a gift or he was just able to view and interpret the world with different eyes, he seemed to be able to predict what would happen. He predicted the Berlin Wall would come down and it did.
One prediction that I have read stated that he thought the world as we know it would end in 2007 because he couldn’t see anything past 2006. He wrote this in the 2002-2003 time periods and until 2006 thought it would be because of everything happening in the Middle East.
Well my father passed away December 6th, 2006, just days away from his 65th birthday on December 25th. He had been diagnosed at the VA hospital with an aggressive form of ALS in October 2006. His world ended, not ours in this case. I miss him every day, even though he was no saint, he was the only father I knew and he taught me to look beyond what is told to the masses and not be a follower and for that I love him.

UPDATE: I believe I am the Ron Morris you refer to in the Pole Vault Pole and Track and Field Museum link that appears to be inactive. I was the Olympic silver medalist in the pole vault event in 1960 (Rome). I have a track & field equipment company called "On Track", which has been in operation for 25 years this year. You can link to my site or specifically, you may visit here to find out more about me. I especially enjoy the fact that there is a Ron Morris at the Sheffield School of Aeronautics, as well as one (me) who flew through the air on a regular basis in my younger days!
