7:14pm, July 3, 2004 - The subway is OPEN! At 7:14pm, the gate went up at the Rama 9 subway station (right). Crowds rushed into the station and lined up to buy tickets. Passengers who bought the 10 baht token received a BCML frame with a subway postcard. Those who purchased the 300 baht Smart Card received a BCML billfold. A northbound subway car that arrived at the station at 7:36pm was already so packed with people that no further passengers could board. Right: Rama 9 Station opens at 7:14pm.
